QR Code Enabled Museum

  1. Title of the Practice: QR code enabled Museum
  2. Objectives of the Practice:
    1. To promote self-paced learning and information beyond books.
    2. To leverage technological advancements in order to enhance the educational experience for students pursuing medical education.
  3. The Context:

A QR code (Quick Response code) is a two-dimensional matrix barcode that can store data in a compact form. The information (text, URLs, or other data) is encoded into a pattern of black and white squares. The QR code can be read using a smartphone camera directly or through a dedicated reader.

    • QR code enabled information stand for each specimen.
    • Instant access to reliable and thoroughly checked information on all specimens of the museum.
    • Up-to-date information.
    • Real-time tracking of QR scans enables the department to understand student needs and cater to it.
    • All information can be accessed online, downloaded, and shared.

Self-paced learning: The QR code learning paves students with an interesting way of learning, which not only enlightens knowledge but also provides quicker access to the contents anywhere and anytime.

Tracking: The QR enabled learning gives us insightful data about access to students and real-time information about the total reach to the students. This data can help us in formulating ideas about ways of learning.

Curiosity: The newer methods of learning such as QR code will awaken curiosity among students, making them more interested in different topics to learn.

  4. The Practice:

The QR code enabled Museum provides an innovative approach to learning that encourages students to explore and engage with museum specimens at their own pace, enhancing their educational experience through technology.
