The Department of General Medicine deals with two broad areas: Clinical and Academic. Department also participates in research activities including many national and international clinical trials.

The Clinical aspect deals with prevention, diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of various diseases. A multitude of talented general physicians conduct physical examinations of the patient in the OPD clinics, equipped with the most modern facilities available today. On the basis of Clinical examination, blood tests and other diagnostic procedures are recommended to the patients to arrive at a final diagnosis. Treatment is then administered on OPD or IPD basis. In addition to this, all the physicians are excellent teachers for the Undergraduate and Post graduate students. Theory classes and practical’s are conducted for the students strictly in accordance with the National Medical Council guidelines, set by the government of India. Student evaluation and examination is carried out under strict supervision and expert guidance of the faculty to provide the highest quality of education.

The goal of the department is to train students to become doctors who have an astute clinical sense, latest medical knowledge and good clinical skills to serve the medical needs of our society and overall to develop a humane, sympathetic caring attitude and be a fit leader of the medical team.
