The Department of Pharmacology equips students with the essential knowledge of Mechanisms of drug action , drug interactions and therapeutic applications. With a curriculum that balances theoretical learning and clinical application, students are prepared to lead advancements in safe and effective medical treatments, supported by a faculty dedicated to fostering research and clinical excellence.

OUR VISION

  • Develop a high-tech laboratory to undertake acute and chronic toxicity studies in animals as per Schedule 'Y'.
  • Establish a well-equipped clinical pharmacology unit to conduct:
    • Phase I studies
    • Phase II studies
    • Phase III studies
  • Create a Bioavailability and Bioequivalence Study Unit that can accommodate 24 volunteers, meeting D.C.G.I. requirements.
  • Collaborate with other institutes and industries to facilitate clinical research on various drugs.

OUR MISSION

"There is no substance in the universe that cannot be used as a drug for a condition, if used rationally and with a definite objective."

Our Goal is to Make Rational Clinicians; We All Strive for It…

  • To inculcate in the undergraduates the concept of rational drug prescribing.
  • To train postgraduates to become good pharmacologists.
  • To establish the department and to conduct high-tech research.
